Does an auger filler need a checkweigher?

An auger filler does not always need a checkweigher, but checkweighing should be considered when the finished pack must be accepted by weight, when product density changes, or when the buyer needs production evidence beyond the auger setting.

Rejected powder packs should move to a controlled location where the operator can identify, quarantine and rework or dispose of them under the site's quality procedure. The reject method must suit the pack format and line speed.

Rigid jars, flexible pouches and bags may need different reject handling. The design should avoid damaging good packs or allowing rejected packs to rejoin the accepted stream.
